Born in 23 August 1973, Malaika Arora Khan is model turned actress. Malaika was born to a Malayalee mother, Joyce Polycarpand a Punjabi father, Anil Arora who was with Merchant Navy. Her younger sister, Amrita Arora is a Bollywood actress.

Malaika completed her tenth grade from Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur, Mumbai. Her Aunt Grace Polycarp was the principal of that school. She is also an alumnus of Holy Cross Convent High School, Thane where she had studied until ninth grade. Malaika lived in Borla Society opposite Basant Talkies before she started pursuing her modeling career.

When MTV India first started its operations in India, Malaika was selected as one of the VJs. She rose from this to an interviewer for MTV India, becoming the most prominent and hot non-movie, non-model female in urban India. MTV India, recognizing her potential gave her plum roles co-anchoring with Cyrus Broacha the popular program Love Line and Style Check.

From there, she expanded her career into the modeling world. Her modeling career was equally successful. Malaika has appeared in numerous advertisements including Pearl Pet, Bare Necessities, Mafatlal, Benzer, Arena, Tanishq, Tribhuvandas Bhimji, De Beers and more.

Later, she appeared in two pop music videos - Gud Naal Ishq Mitha sung by British Asian singer Bally Sagoo and Pyar Ka Mausam sung by Shubha Mudgal. She started her acting career with the film Aaja Meri Jaan (1993). Since then she has acted and appeared in various Hindi films such as Dil Se, Bichhoo, Indian, Maa Tujhhe Salaam, Kaante, Kaal, Hey Babby, Om Shanti Om, Welcome, EMI.

Malaika was one of the judges of the first and second season of Nach Baliye. She also judged Zaara Nachke Dikha with Chunky Pandey and Perfect Bride with Shekhar Suman and Amrita Arora. She is the brand ambassador of European cellular phone called Meridien.

Malaika is married to Arbaaz Khan. The couple had met during a coffee ad shoot.
